Regulatory framework

Conflict Minerals rules (EU Regulation 2017/821, customer requirements such as SEC / OECD Due Diligence) require reasonable diligence on tin, tantalum, tungsten and gold (3TG) from conflict-affected or high-risk areas.

Industrial buyers must collect CMRTs, identify smelters and manage upstream gaps beyond a simple supplier attestation.

What the buyer must require

Evidence needs to be verifiable, dated and tied to a specific reference. A generic statement isn't enough.

  • Up-to-date Conflict Minerals Reporting Template (CMRT).
  • List of smelters / refiners and RMAP status where applicable.
  • Signed Conflict Minerals policy and supplier commitment.
  • Corrective plan if a smelter is non-compliant or origin is at risk.

Manage compliance over time

Suplylot industrialises CMRT collection and smelter tracking: annual campaigns, reminders and material risk reading for electronics and alloys.

  • Prioritise materials with high 3TG content.
  • Alert on expired CMRTs or unlisted smelters.
  • Cross-check Conflict Minerals and tier-2 supply-chain mapping.
