Regulatory framework

The Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) replaces and expands the EU eco-design framework: it sets environmental performance requirements for many product categories placed on the EU market (durability, repairability, recyclability, substances of concern, product information).

For industrial buyers, ESPR means structuring upstream data — composition, processes, footprint, end of life — well before placing products on the market, alongside the Digital Product Passport (DPP) and PCF.

What the buyer must require

Evidence needs to be verifiable, dated and tied to a specific reference. A generic statement isn't enough.

  • Map ESPR requirements applicable to each product range.
  • Supplier data on composition, substances, repairability and end of life.
  • Dated evidence linked to the finished-product reference.
  • Alignment with DPP, PCF and substance frameworks (REACH, PFAS…).

Manage compliance over time

Suplylot industrializes ESPR collection: supplier questionnaires, product grids, campaigns by range and completeness status before audit or market placement.

  • Prioritize product families under ESPR.
  • Collect missing fields on every BOM or sourcing change.
  • Cross ESPR, DPP and PCF in the same product file.
