Regulatory framework
GPSR (EU) 2023/988 replaces the General Product Safety Directive. It strengthens obligations for manufacturers, importers and distributors: risk assessment, technical documentation, traceability and cooperation with authorities.
For procurement, GPSR requires verifiable upstream evidence (components, packaging, instructions) linked to the finished product placed on the market.
What the buyer must require
Evidence needs to be verifiable, dated and tied to a specific reference. A generic statement isn't enough.

- Identification of economic operators (manufacturer, importer, authorised representative).
- Compliance evidence for critical components from the panel.
