Regulatory framework
ECHA's SCIP database collects information on articles containing SVHC above 0.1% w/w. It complements REACH supply-chain communication duties.
Buyers must obtain structured data (article, substance, concentration, location) from suppliers to prepare or verify notifications.
What the buyer must require
Evidence needs to be verifiable, dated and tied to a specific reference. A generic statement isn't enough.
- SVHC > 0.1% w/w declaration per article or component.
- Article IDs, substance (CAS) and concentration.
- Location of the substance in the complex article.
- Update on every composition change.
